Which Yoga Class Should You Take?

We offer three different yoga sessions at Personal Space Fitness. They’re all yoga—but they’re not interchangeable.

If you’re trying to decide what to book, here’s the simplest way to think about it:

  • Yoga Practice = slower pace, more time to learn and refine

  • Yoga Flow = continuous movement and rhythm

  • Yoga Strength = yoga-based movement with more loading, holds, and strength focus

All three are coached, structured sessions. Personal mat required for each.

At-a-glance: the differences

Class

Best described as

Pace

Focus

Good for

Yoga Practice

Foundations + time to work

Slow to moderate

Technique, mobility, breath, positions

Beginners, returning to yoga, people who want to feel steady and clear

Yoga Flow

Continuous sequence

Moderate

Movement continuity, coordination, endurance

People who like rhythm, want to move more, want a “classic flow” feel

Yoga Strength

Strength-forward yoga

Moderate (with pauses)

Holds, control, stability, strength

People who want yoga plus strength, want to feel worked without chaos

Yoga Practice: for clarity, foundations, and steadiness

Yoga Practice is the least rushed format. It’s where you get time.

Expect:

  • More setup and breakdown of positions

  • More time spent in fewer shapes

  • Options and modifications that make things feel doable

  • A focus on control, breath, and repeatable mechanics

This is a strong first choice if:

  • You’re newer to yoga

  • You’ve taken yoga before but felt lost in faster classes

  • You want mobility work that feels guided and calm

  • You’d rather do it well than do it fast

Yoga Flow: for rhythm, continuity, and “moving meditation”

Yoga Flow is the most continuous of the three. You’ll move through sequences that connect poses together with less downtime.

Expect:

  • A steady pace

  • Repeated patterns that get more familiar as class goes on

  • A focus on transitions (not just the end positions)

  • A workout feel that comes from consistency, not intensity tricks

This is a strong choice if:

  • You like momentum and structure

  • You want to move more than you want to pause

  • You enjoy a traditional flow format

Book Yoga Flow:

Yoga Strength: for stability, control, and building capacity

Yoga Strength shifts the emphasis toward strength and stability - often through longer holds, slower tempos, and positions that ask more of your legs, core, and shoulders.

Expect:

  • More time under tension (holds, slow lowers, controlled reps)

  • Strength and stability work inside familiar yoga shapes

  • A pace that may include pauses (because strength needs them)

This is a strong choice if:

  • You want yoga that also builds strength

  • You like feeling “worked” but still want a coached, structured environment

  • You want better control and stability, not just flexibility

Book Yoga Strength:

How to choose (simple rules)

If you’re torn, use this:

  • Choose Yoga Practice if you want confidence and understanding

  • Choose Yoga Flow if you want movement and rhythm

  • Choose Yoga Strength if you want stability and strength focus

Still unsure? Start with Yoga Practice once or twice. It tends to make the other two feel easier and more familiar.

What all three have in common

  • Coached session (you’re not just copying shapes in silence)

  • Structured format (clear start, progression, and finish)

  • Personal mat required

  • Built to feel calm and repeatable, not chaotic
